There was a time I was talking to my brother and he suggested an idea. He said maybe the more enjoyable something is, the more important it is. And I think about that from time to time to this day.
Now when I say enjoyable (now and forever) it is not in the hedonistic sense. Not stimulating like a roller coaster or a fancy dinner but genuinely enjoyable. Like a day in the park with your family or watching a sunset on a river bed in fall. A simple sort of eternal pleasure that has almost been encoded into our DNA. The universe observing itself and seeing that it is good.
So I say this because I don't think that there's enough enjoyment in the world. There's plenty of grinding and virtue signalling and escaping and suppressing but there's not a lot of genuine family friendly old fashioned fun. People chasing their tails for validation from other people who are chasing validation from another group of people for money it's a whole mess. But there is hope. In quieting all that noise and really honing in on what jives your turkey. What do you enjoy doing when noone is watching?
Life is to be enjoyed. Which is not to say every moment is going to be joyful but every moment is enjoyable. It's really a matter of your mindset and your perspective. Once you decide that I am going to enjoy my life no matter what the devil decides to throw at me, God conspires to manipulate the universe for your desired outcome. But it is important to remember the inverse is true as well. So what will you decide? But you have to decide today.
